As part of Action for Climate 2024, UniGe is organizing a series of expert-led guided excursions between September and October 2024.
September 25
EXCURSION POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS
The new date will be announced as soon as possible.
This excursion will be dedicated to UniGe Senior members, and during the route, experts from ARPAL will illustrate the main impacts of ongoing climate change on the regional territory, with a particular focus on hydrogeological risks. Guides from the Liguria CAI Regional Group will also participate, discussing best practices to adopt during outdoor activities to minimize the impact on the environment, promoting sustainable tourism.
The excursion is dedicated to UniGe Senior members (with a maximum of 30 participants).
Reservations are mandatory by filling out this FORM (COMPLETE!).
For insurance purposes, it is essential to register for free with CUS Genova in order to participate in the excursion, either on the website or by downloading the official app.
The day will be organized as follows:
- 9:00 a.m.: Meeting point at Largo Boccardo - Molassana, accessible by various AMT bus lines (13, 13/, 14, 14/ from the city center)
- 9:15 a.m.: Departure on foot along the section of the aqueduct between Molassana and Staglieno (section 3 in the attached file describing the PEDEstriBUS Acquedotto Storico project)
- 12:30 p.m. (approx.): Arrival at Piazzale Resasco in Staglieno (AMT line 34 terminus)
Please note that hiking on the trail requires good weather conditions, appropriate footwear, and participants with solid hiking experience. In case of rain, the event will be postponed.

EVENT
As part of Action for Climate 2024, UniGe is organizing a series of expert-led guided excursions between September and October 2024.
October 20
The October excursion is organized in collaboration with the Circolo Universitario Genovese and the CAI Liguria Regional Group and is dedicated to university staff. During this loop hike, the main impacts of ongoing climate change on the regional territory will be discussed, with a particular focus on water resource management. Additionally, Simonetta Peccenini, former botany professor at UniGe and head of the hiking section of the Circolo Universitario Genovese, will explain the key aspects related to the biodiversity of the area, while CAI guides will speak about best practices to adopt during outdoor activities to minimize environmental impact, promoting sustainable tourism.
The excursion is open to UniGe staff, with a maximum of 25 participants.

To participate in the excursion, you must be a member of the CUG Club.
If you're not already a member, you can join for the period from September 2024 to December 2025 for €20, with an additional hiking insurance fee for 2024 (€2.40).
What to bring: season-appropriate clothing, hiking boots, backpack, water bottle, packed lunch.
In case of rain, the event will be postponed.

EVENT
As part of the Action for Climate 2024 initiative, the RUS (Network of Universities for Sustainable Development) Student Community Technical Table has organized a widespread Clean Up event: RUSClean - Clean Up Our Cities. All universities in the network were invited to participate in this initiative to promote environmental awareness and contribute to the cleaning and care of our cities and surrounding areas.
Unigeco, the student association dedicated to sustainability at the university and a key collaborator with UniGe Sostenibile, has organized CleanUpRUSGe: an afternoon cleanup of the Vernazzola shoreline on Sunday, November 3, inviting the entire academic community to take part.
