Description
Absorbent hygienic products (AHPs) have become essential daily products for society, and their use has increased substantially. Like any consumer product, AHPs also end up in solid waste after their use. Today they account for about 2-4% of total municipal solid waste and are considered a non-recyclable fraction, which is usually incinerated or landfilled. Recently Some companies have developed and patented innovative recycling solutions for this post-consumer waste, creating secondary raw materials for more valuable applications.
