RUS Piemonte

In March 2019, the Piedmontese universities affiliated with the Italian Network for Sustainable Development (RUS) initiated the RUS Piemonte Subnetwork. The primary objective was to strengthen the impact of Piedmontese universities in promoting sustainable development for the region. This was to be achieved by enhancing collaborations with both public and private stakeholders and sharing best practices.

Universities involved: Politecnico di Torino, Università degli Studi di Scienze GastronomicheUniversità degli Studi di TorinoUniversità del Piemonte Orientale

Lead university for the period from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2026: Università del Piemonte Orientale, RUS network Piemonte coordinator: prof. Carmen Aina.

From September 2020 to December 2022, Piedmontese universities collaborated on the implementation of PASS - Piedmont and Academy for Sustainable Development. This project was funded by the Ministry of Territory and the Sea as part of the call to support the implementation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development. Through the PASS project and following the national RUS model, an innovative operational approach was defined and launched within the regional context. This approach was based on collaboration among the four Piedmontese universities and the Piedmont Region. The aim was to share, develop, and implement regional policies for sustainable development.

Upon the conclusion of the PASS project, the four Piedmontese universities sought to coordinate the activities carried out on a regional scale within the framework of the national RUS. This led to the establishment of the RUS Piemonte.
