This year as well, the University of Rome Tor Vergata is participating in the initiative by organizing a hike to the Velino Springs, located near Cittareale (RI), passing through the S. Rufo and Pozzoni springs.

Program:

7:30 am - Departure from Rome from the university parking lot at via Salamanca 90

9:30 am - Arrival at Valle S. Rufo, 3 km from Cittareale (RI) at an altitude of 1176 meters above sea level, where the CAI 473 trail begins

10:30 am - Arrival at S. Rufo spring at an altitude of 1305 meters above sea level

11:00 am - Arrival at Pozzoni spring at an altitude of 1626 meters above sea level

11:30 am - Arrival at the Velino Springs at an altitude of 1681 meters above sea level

12:30 pm - Return to Valle S. Rufo

1:00 pm - Social break

4:00 pm - Departure for Rome

THEMATIC ANALYSIS

Until a few years ago, the Velino Springs were clearly visible throughout their entire course, but due to climate change, the flow has significantly diminished, almost disappearing, only to reappear downstream, forming a small stream.
