EVENT
From Passo della Calla (1,296 m), we will walk along the Sacred Forests Trail leading to Monte Falco (1,658 m). The first part of the route is uphill; we will continue along the ridge that touches both Monte Falco and Monte Falterona, then descend to Capo d’Arno (1,358 m): “For half of Tuscany there flows a little stream that rises on Falterona, and its course of a hundred miles does not satiate it…” (Dante - Purgatorio, Canto XIV 16-18). We will then climb back up to Varco delle Crocicchie (1,405 m) and descend to Fonte del Borbotto (1,300 m), passing by Gorga Nera, a small lake home to the common frog. The final stretch will take us to the bus waiting at Castagno d'Andrea for our return to Florence.
Event aimed at the community of the University of Florence (students, faculty, and administrative staff) - Maximum number of participants: 47. Participation in the event involves two steps:
1) registration on SOL as indicated below;
2) payment of the insurance fee (to complete the registration) at the CAI Secretariat.
In case of withdrawal, please inform the CAI Secretariat via email or phone before October 3, the date by which the insurance fee can be refunded.
If the number of registration requests exceeds the available spots, you can send an email to green.office@unifi.it. A waiting list will be created in chronological order, to be used in case of cancellations.
