The CRUI - Conference of Italian University Rectors, which has promoted the RUS several months before the 2030 Agenda was approved, on May 29 and 30 hosted the RUS Conference as part of the "Magnificent Meetings of CRUI 2019". The "Magnificent Meetings" have declined the theme "Universities for Sustainability" in 4 areas and 8 working tables: Environment, climate, energy; Welfare, health and welfare; Economy, work and territory; Education and right to study.

At the end of the conference, the Manifesto From "Universities for Sustainability" to "Sustainability is in the Universities" was presented, in which the RUS received the mandate to prepare a National Implementation Plan according to the Sustainable Development Goals in harmony with the MIUR.
