On the occasion of National Energy Conservation and Sustainable Lifestyles Day, the University launches an information and awareness campaign at all university sites. Stickers and totems will suggest virtuous behaviors to do one's part in caring for the environment and protecting resources. Kicking off distribution in the coming weeks.

The Università di Bologna on this occasion promotes the values of sustainability and energy transition with symbolic actions, turning off the lighting of some symbolic community buildings in Bologna and Romagna, and with a workshop organized by the University of Bologna and the Resources and Waste GdL of RUS, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, to stimulate a discussion and analyze the factors that hinder the disposal of the Universities' movable assets.

Shutting down one or more of GSSI's buildings encourages to practice consapelike sustainability actions such as: keeping the heating 1 degree lower; organizing more sustainable transportation as car sharing and walking/biking; maximize the use of sunlight; eating km 0 food by preferring local products; reducing plastic consumption

Once again this year Luiss renews its adherence to the "M'illumino di Meno" initiative and in the late afternoon of Thursday, February 16 from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. it will turn off the lights in the shared spaces of its campuses and locations. A small gesture of care for the environment that ties in with the energy awareness and upgrading activities adopted so far that have enabled the University to obtain important international recognition and environmental quality certifications.

The Politecnico di Milano will join the National Day for Energy Savings and Sustainable Lifestyles by turning off the lighting on the facade of the Rector's Building (Building 1, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci 32, Milan) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. On the occasion, it will remind the entire polytechnic community, through various online and offline information tools, of the importance of adopting careful and responsible behaviors to help reduce energy consumption.

On Feb. 16, from 9 p.m. onward, the  Politecnico di Torino will symbolically shut down its historic headquarters, the Valentino Castle, in the heart of the city's most beloved city park on the banks of the Po River.

On Feb. 16, 2023, only vegetarian meals will be available in Politecnico di Torino canteens for the "Sustainable Lifestyles" focus. The Athenaeum from Feb. 13-17 is joining Green Food Week, replacing one or more meals during the week with sustainable alternatives. On the occasion of the M'illumino di meno initiative, the menu change will be more noticeable by completely excluding meat from the offer.

Turning off all lights in the University and concurrently starting the project of placing solar streetlights to illuminate the park outside the University. Cultural and reflective moment with a candlelight concert open to the local area and its representatives, with a collective, inclusive and sustainable experience in order to share and spread good energy-saving practices and to find lasting solutions against energy waste.

At 6 p.m., the lights of UnitelmaSapienza's headquarters located in Piazza Sassari 4 (Rome) will be turned off to join the initiative proposed by RUS as part of the 19th edition of M'illumino di Meno, National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles.

The "Gabriele d'Annunzio" Athenaeum is joining from 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 by symbolically turning off all exterior lights on the Chieti and Pescara campuses. All University staff, teaching and non-teaching, have also been asked to want to participate and reinforce this initiative by turning off the lights in their offices during the same time slot and at the same time turn off unnecessarily lit lights in common places not in use.

From Feb. 1 to Feb. 12, the entire Cafoscarina community will be able to participate in the "Old but Gold" social contest by posting a photo on their Instagram or Facebook profile of an object that has been given new life through a creative reuse action. Sustainability-themed prizes will be up for grabs.

On February 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the "Swap Party: sustainable reuse party" initiative will be held at the San Giobbe Campus. An opportunity to share and swap under the banner of sustainability. The entire Cafoscarina community is invited to participate: 
- bringing one or more items (clothing, books, accessories) that you no longer use and that could be useful to someone else;
- by taking one or more of those available.

Turning off main lighting in the parking lots of the Roio university campus and Camponeschi Palace, home of the Rectorate, for the entire night of 16/02/2023; Publication of energy-saving vademecum from October 2022; Relamping: between 2019 and 2020, more than 4,000 lighting points in the Coppito and Roio university hubs were replaced. UnivAQ was confirmed in 2022 among the most sustainable universities (37th in the world and 5th in Italy) by Green Metric World University Ranking.

On Thursday 16 February 2023, the University of Tuscia will turn off the lights of its Rectorate. The only streetlights to operate during the night will be the recently installed solar streetlights, which guarantee efficient brightness with zero energy consumption

Across Puglia, the five universities will turn off, from 7 to 9 p.m., all the lights of some symbolic buildings. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the role of universities as open places of knowledge for the promotion, not only in the classrooms but also in the territory and society, of the awareness and culture of responsible consumption and sustainable use of energy.

On Thursday, February 16, 2023, we invite all those who in various capacities frequent the spaces of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture-students, faculty, technical-administrative staff, assignees, fellows, collaborators, etc.-to give up the use of their cars and to travel to the Faculty on foot, by bicycle, using public transportation, shared mobility or in any case other more sustainable modes of transportation

In concomitance with the "M'Illumino di Meno" event, the food service operating at the Monserrato University Citadel will serve a sustainable menu of meatless dishes to raise awareness of more sustainable lifestyles. Dissemination materials will be displayed to illustrate the lower impact on the environment in terms of climate-altering emissions and waste production, and the well-being resulting from a diet that reduces reliance on meat without sacrificing taste.

The Universita' di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale in synergy with local authorities proposes: SinErgie. Four actions in Cassino (FR): Planting in the green areas of the University Campus; Pedaling "community" at the bike path of the University Campus; Meeting at the Rectorate Council Room, and online, for a moment of awareness on various points related to sustainability; Turning off lights of symbolic places between Cassino, Frosinone and Gaeta.

On Feb. 16, 2023, from 9 p.m. onward, the University of Catania will symbolically shut down its historic headquarters in University Square and awareness-raising initiatives will be carried out inside the Benedictine Monastery home of the Department of Humanities. The Benedictine Monastery community will be asked about their habits and what their commitment to the issue is. Also, as a symbolic gesture, at 6 p.m. the lights of the Benedictine Monastery will be turned off for a few minutes.

Online training course aimed at University staff to be held on February 23, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Participation has also been extended to students as the topics are of great interest to the entire academic community.

Once again this year, the Università di Foggia joins the initiative "M'illumino di meno," from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the lights that illuminate the exterior and interior of the Athenaeum building and the Law Department building will be turned off. A large banner will be posted outside the buildings to inform the public of the initiative. It will also be given wide publicity of the initiative through the Unifg website and the university's social media, and will be communicated to the main local media. 

The Università di Genova is organizing an event to raise awareness among the university community, recounting the many initiatives undertaken and suggesting strategies and tools for improving the University's energy performance. Speakers at the event will include the University Energy Manager, faculty and researchers from the University and Savona Campus Energy Savings Working Group, and representatives of energy companies in the area. 

The University has scheduled the lights in the central plexus to be turned off from the late afternoon of Feb. 16.

The University of Milano-Bicocca, as in past editions, will join M'illumino di meno 2023 this year with the symbolic switching off of some common spaces in the U6 and U7 buildings at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 16. All those who wish to participate in the initiative are invited to turn off the lights in their offices.

The Università degli Studi di Palermo joins the "M'illumino di meno" initiative by turning off, Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 from 7-10 p.m. the lighting of the Rectorate, Palazzo Chiaramonte (Steri).

On Feb. 16 starting at 7 p.m., all lights will be turned off in the Headquarters, the Office Building on Cavestro Street and the Law Building on University Street 7. All employees and staff will also be asked to turn off lights and computer standby. Communication will be sent to all staff and students to promote the day and invite sustainable lifestyles.

The University has long implemented actions to curb consumption and raise community awareness of energy waste. On the occasion of the event, the lights of the three most significant sites of its architectural heritage will be simultaneously turned off: the Cortile Teresiano in the Central Palace in the city's historic center; the Courtyard of Palazzo San Tommaso, home to one of the libraries most frequented by the academic community; and the Library of Science and Technology (Drum), at the Cravino Campus.

Unnecessary utilities in the Rector's Office will be turned off from 7 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2023. This initiative will involve all university staff who must take care to turn off lights, computers and any other energy absorbing devices. In collaboration with the energy manager, the reduction in consumption and the amount of carbon dioxide avoided will be quantified. Knowledge of consumption reduction is a tool for proposing future actions.

For the initiative, from 6:30 p.m. the lights of the buildings of the Teaching and Departments of the Macroarea of Humanities will be turned off. The choice has fallen on the Macroarea of the University, which was the first to undergo a relamping project, so all existing lamps have been replaced with LED lighting and an automatic lighting management system (motion sensors, and brightness sensors) has been installed for the purpose of "smart" energy management.

Three separate events are planned: the planting of four plants in the gardens of the Fisciano Campus, an in-depth seminar on energy efficiency in mobility, construction, agriculture and industry, and finally, a mini-live in acoustics.

As part of "M'illumino di meno 2023" the UniToGO Green Office Energy Group and the Informal Group on Energy Communities invite to the meeting Renewable Energy Communities (RECs): a nice opportunity... but really for anyone? UNITO's role in supporting a possible "bottom-up" energy transition.

The Università degli Studi di Udine has planned to turn off the lights in the Antonini-Maseri building, home of the rectorate, from the late afternoon of Feb.16. A way to raise awareness of sustainable lifestyles and the proper use of energy, but also an invitation to reflection and solidarity.

From 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, the lights on the facade of Bonaventure Palace will be turned off and, at the same time, two initiatives will be launched: The "It's not a small gesture" campaign aimed at raising awareness among the university community about the importance of daily actions in terms of reducing energy consumption; Swap day (March 13, 2023) to encourage the exchange and reuse of clothes, accessories, objects that are no longer used.

Participation in M'Illumino di meno is part of the SHUT OFF THE LIGHTS action planned by the energy-saving awareness campaign "ThinkGreen" launched in 2022 by UNIVR, which proposes short insights on some particularly consumption-impacting issues.

The University will turn off the lights in the Rector's Office building from the late afternoon of Feb.16 until the morning of the following day. The initiative aims to confirm the University's commitment to raising awareness of the issues and to set an example for the initiation of virtuous practices. From the beginning of the II semester courses, the M'illumino di meno decalogue will also be publicized to raise students' awareness of energy conservation and alternative options.

The Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria is joining the "M'illumino di meno" initiative by symbolically turning off the lighting of the Rector's Office building and the lights that illuminate the adjacent outdoor space from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. A news item will be posted on the University website (www.unirc.it) to inform the public about the initiative and wide publicity will be given through the University's social media Linkedin, Facebook and Instagram.

Parthenope University is joining "M'illumino di meno" again this year. The initiative is dedicated to the crucial issue of reducing consumption to limit its environmental and economic impact. In order to encourage greater awareness of the issue and the necessary individual contribution by the entire academic community, it has been decided to interrupt the supply of electricity at the University's main offices. On the 16th Sapori Campani will join Green Food Week, including sustainable alternatives in its menus.

An Open talk to think together about sustainability in its declinations: it is a theme that is increasingly present in our daily lives often not addressed in its practical declination. Complexity leads to questions on various issues: from individual behaviors to radical actions, from the commitment of movements and communities to the reality of resource use, production and consumption. 

Università Politecnica delle Marche is participating at M'Illumino di Meno 2023. To mark the occasion, the University is launching the "WE ARE NOT OFF!" initiative. Thanks to the collaboration with a group of students and Ph.D., who founded the Animal Footprint Association, an infographic has been created that invites the entire Ateneo community to limit energy consumption. The flyer, which can be downloaded from the Athenaeum website, can be disseminated to all departments, offices and facilities.
