Description:

UniToGo, the Green Office of the Università di Torino, on the occasion of the European Week for Waste Reduction, organizes the “Ri-portalo in circolo” event, an extraordinary collection of used clothing in good condition and medium/large fabrics (curtains, tablecloths, blankets) along with an information campaign on the environmental impact of the textile sector and innovative solutions for their prevention and reduction.

Thanks to the collaboration with the cooperative Esserci and its Exito project, a tailoring and accessories production workshop intended for fragile women, medium/large-sized fabrics will find new life through an upcycling process that allows the recovery and reuse of materials in a perspective of environmental sustainability with a social value.


Results of the initiative

The totala mount of the collected material is equal to 240 kg between clothes (74%) and fabrics (26%)

Name of the initiative Azione di clean up @ SME - Cross-KIC New European Bauhuaus

Description:

This is a Cleaning action that involves the community created around the EIT cross-KIC "New European Bauhaus" project at the School of Economics and Management of the Università di Torino.

The general objective is to create, by November 2021, about 50 square meters of vegetable gardens dedicated to the production of fruit and/or vegetables. The community gardens will be located in green areas of the University with the aim of enhancing the spaces by increasing their social, cultural, environmental and aesthetic value. The ambition is to create a co-designed vegetable garden that involves both the university community and therefore students, teachers, technical and administrative staff, associations, companies or citizens who live in the neighborhood in which the Corso Unione Sovietica site is located.


Results of the initiative:

The total amount of material collected is 800 kg of waste including some bulky waste.
