Climbing For Climate Fifth Edition
Climbing for Climate is a demonstrative initiative organized by the RUS and the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) to raise local, national and international awareness of the effects of the current climate change in consideration of the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, specifically: fighting climate change (SDG13) and promoting life on earth/protecting biodiversity (SDG15), but also promoting sustainable tourism (SDG8) and social and economic inclusion of those living in remote areas (SDG10), supporting sustainable communities (SDG11).
Reaching its fifthedition, CFC5 sees a "national" declination with the event held on July 30 and 31 on the Mass of Mount Adamello, and a "widespread" one with events organized from early September 1 to October 8 2023.
In addition to the central event on Mont Blanc, as usual the RUS Universities have been invited to organize excursions open to their communities and possible local actors showing a preference for protected areas and places where the effects of climate change are tangible.
The CFC5 in its "widespread" dimension is sponsored by the Ministry of Ecological Transition (MITE), Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), and Italian Glaciological Committee (CGI).
On this page we highlight the various initiatives organized on the Italian territory by RUS Universities that have accepted the invitation to join CFC4.
